Why do we want to learn holistic breast care?
We all know what we are supposed to ‘do’ for breast ‘health’: get them scanned. But. Does that create health in them? No, monitoring doesn’t create health. So, what does? What are the action steps you could take to actually build good health in your breasts?
Like most people, I wasn’t taught – especially by the time I was in my 20’s – scared and alone and dealing with breast lumps. So I started learning from wise women, gathering skills, and asking lots of questions to discover more. Decades later, it turns out, there’s a LOT we can do! And all that learning can be both empowering and effective.
As a licensed massage therapist specializing in women’s care for 26 years, and who is certified in clinical breast massage and manual lymph drainage, I can show you hands on skills and lifestyle shifts you can do at home right away.
About the class:
Yes, it’s about 3 hours. No, you will likely not be bored. No, it’s not online. There is too much practical benefit to kinesthetic learning on this topic. Unplug from online everything and get your body to class! The best time to start helping yourself is now.
This is not a formal sit down, stay quiet, and get-stuck-in-your-head kinda class. I don’t learn well that way, so I don’t educate that way. Instead, we will be interacting, exploring concepts, moving a bit, experiencing kinesthetic and visual aids, taking notes, learning self massage and using nutrient dense massage oils for lymph and breast support. It’s interactive and the time flies quickly.
Who is this class for?
Women of all ages and breast health histories who want to learn more about how to cultivate healthy breasts. Teens attending with mom can be in class for free.
Have you experienced a surgical history on your breast?
You may need an adaptation to the self breast massage we will learn in class and the workshop.
I can offer you suggested adaptations based on my experience and certification in manual lymph drainage massage and clinical breast massage training with double breast cancer survivor Sally Spurgeon, LMT. Please contact me to briefly review your breast situation *prior* to class by phone, once you have signed up. Once I understand your situation, I can coach you through personal adaptations at the class.

As part of this class, we will be learning how to do a lymph loving self breast massage.
For this, we will stay fully clothed and just go under our shirt, so don’t dress up! Wear a dark colored, loose, old teeshirt that you don’t care about getting oil on. If you need to wear a bra, that’s fine, just bring one that you can easily loosen or discreetly remove to reach underneath. And know it might get oily.
What to Bring to class:
– a notebook and pen to take notes (you’ll want to remember what is mentioned – we will cover a lot!)
– your curiosity and wonder to learn more about your breasts and self care!
– willingness to learn different and new things
